Esperanza Inc. Afterschool Tutoring Program:

The mission of Esperanza is to enhance educational and economic opportunities for Hispanic Americans. Currently, the organization is seeking tutors for its students. The students are limited English proficient (LEP). They struggle in reading literacy and understanding basic math concepts, such as those taught in Elementary Math and Pre-Algebra.

The students are in need of tutors who come consistently. Consistency is the key to a successful tutoring program for both the tutor and tutoree. There will be a mandatory meeting with all of the volunteer tutors before they begin to tutor. Esperanza hopes to coordinate a meeting with the parents after the first tutoring session.
