You are invited to the
2009 Peace Corps Nomination Party and the First Annual NORVA Summer Picnic:
"Serve Internationally, Conserve Locally"
Peace Corps Volunteers quickly become experts at how to live a simpler life, often much closer to the land. That means using resources in a sustainable manner and minimizing the amount of waste produced.
As part of the Third Goal of the Peace Corps to “bring it home” we are celebrating ways to “Go Green” in your everyday life. With your help, starting with our picnic, we can reduce our carbon footprint.
How, you ask?
1. Carpool (contact us if you need or can offer a ride)
2. Bring a dish made with locally grown or produced food (from your own garden, if possible)
3. Bring reusable plates/forks/cups to minimize trash
The goal of the nomination party is for Peace Corps nominees, invitees and their families to meet returned volunteers, share stories, ask questions and celebrate recent nominations.
