Welcome
to the NORVA web site!
The
Northern Ohio Returned Volunteer Association (NORVA) was incorporated
in 1979 and is an affiliate group of the National Peace Corps Association
(NPCA). The primary goal of NORVA is to provide ways for returned
Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCV's) to fulfill the Third Goal of Peace
Corps, "To bring the world back home." Membership in NORVA
is open to RPCV's, family and friends of current and returned members,
VISTA volunteers and any other interested community members.
Throughout
the years, NORVA has been involved in a variety of activities that
foster better understanding of international issues; provide and
support educational programs in the community about developing nations;
offer volunteer assistance in our local communities; maintain connections
with current Peace Corps projects throughout the world; create opportunities
for returned volunteers to exchange information and ideas, and to
network with each other.
We
hope that you will take a moment to explore this site and familiarize
yourself with the many ways that NORVA works to "bring the
world back home." Please consider how you might be involved
with NORVA, either through participation in any of our activities
or by using NORVA as a resource for your community organization
or school. If you are not already a member, please consider joining
us!
